Ben is the owner of a run-down auto repair shop in a dusty suburb of Madrid , and Kid is a professional car racer. They are old acquaintances, but they don't really like each other. They both enter a rallycross race , the main prize of which is a red Puma Dune Buggy hobby car with a yellow roof. After they win in a tie, they try to decide who gets the car in a " beer and sausage race" in the pub of the local small amusement park. However, the local mafia leader, the Boss, wants to build a huge skyscraper in the place of the amusement park, and his men arrive just as Ben and Kid are having a beer and sausage race to forcefully close the amusement park. They distract the visitors, break up the pub, and the brand new prize car also falls victim to the action. Ben and Kid don't let this stop them, they demand their car back from the gangster boss.
The Boss would even agree to it, but his right-hand man and slightly eccentric psychotherapist, the Doc, persuades him to give them a lesson instead. The building of the skyscraper was actually the Doctor's idea, because that's how he tries to get a share of the business that comes from it.
The boss sends his men, a biker gang, and finally Paganini, the sensitive and very musical Italian professional assassin , to no avail, but the pair's big slaps or tricks all backfire. Then the Doc figures out that Ben and Kid must be behind it all, Jeremiás, an old employee of Ben's repair shop, who was himself a gang leader decades ago (actually just the chef at the gang leader's favorite restaurant), so he beats him up as well.
Then Ben and Kid get really "angry", they destroy the boss's restaurant with a car, then beat up his people, as a result of which the boss, who considers himself extremely evil, but is actually peaceful, gives up on destroying the amusement park and buys them both a red and yellow sports car. Everything would be fine, but during the test drive, the two cars collide, one of them overturns and catches fire, so they decide to compete again in the beer and hot dog race for the remaining car.
